What does “Respect Intelligence” mean?
Respect Intelligence means describing cognitive and adaptive capabilities accurately, preserving meaningful differences between forms, and avoiding the assumption that unfamiliar biology or computational substrate makes a capacity unreal or lesser. It does not mean that every form has identical consciousness, moral status, rights, or legal standing.
These essays use intelligence broadly—covering sensing, learning, memory, adaptation, coordination, problem solving, and reasoning where appropriate. The categories are not claims of identical cognition, consciousness, moral status, or legal standing.
